Is it possible to install Windows XP onto a new hard drive by copying from a drive with XP already installed?
I got a 160GB hard drive to replace my 20GB one for my Dell Latitude C840 laptop. I can't get the Windows XP installation to go right. (See my previous question I posted). I'm wondering if it is possible to install Windows XP on the new hard drive by copying the OS from the 20GB drive to the new drive. I'm thinking about getting an external enclosure like this one

for the 160GB drive to make it work like an external hard drive that transferrs data via USB. Then I just plug that drive to my laptop in the USB port and format it NTFS and then copy all the necessary OS files from 20GB drive still in my laptop and then take out the 20GB drive and put in the 160GB drive that I copied the information to. Would this work?
