Olympus PEN e-p1 or Nikon entry-level dSLR? Plz help me decide!?
I'm battling over this. I've heard many good things about the Olympus PEN e-p1. There are some pretty good deals online at the moment. I'm looking at the zoom kit plus the compact flash (approx. US$750 total).
Should I go for that or just settle with a (getting boring looking and heavy) dSLR from Nikon (my preferred brand)? I'm talking about those entry-level ones; D60, D3000, D5000... leaning dangerously close to the D90.
Please lay your wisdom on me. Thanks in advance.

Now this is a great question. I get bored of the what should I get Canon or Nikon, or does the Nikon 40d rock, blah, blah, blah.
This reminds me of a photographer, much wiser than myself that says, "the best camera is the one that you have with you" that's a paraphrase, it could be off by a little. It basically means you can have the most amazing camera in the world, but if it's so big, and cumbersome that you don't always have it with you, what good is it? It might not be with you when the mood strikes, or when something really interesting catches your eye.
So can you picture yourself carrying a small bag for a dSLR, maybe an extra lens or other accessories? If so, go for the dSLR. But now that we have some options for large sensor cameras that are compact-ish, it changes things.
I came so close to getting a Sigma DP1 or 2 because it has a nice large sensor, with a true color foveon sensor, but its performance just wasn't what I thought it should be. Now with the Olympus EP1 and Panasonic's GF 1 they are so tempting.
I say from the tone of your question, you should go for a compact with a large sensor. I like the Olympus, but now I'm leaning toward the Panasonic GF1, it has a nice large sensor like the PEN but it has a pop up flash. In white with the pancake prime lens, it's super easy to carry around, nice for sneaking into concerts, try that with a dSLR. I also like the EP 1 in white.
