Can I download books from the amazon's kindle store instead of having them wirelessly delivered to my kindle?
I am about to go to abroad form studies and I plan to take my kindle along with me, is it possible to download the books and just sync them to my Kindle. I know the EVDO won't work outside the U.S.. If anyone can help me out on this then please do. Thank You for you're time.

physical, or electronic?
it seems a lot of people today would rather have the electronic version of things (such as iTunes/downloading for music, or the kindle/nook for books). im just curious what you would all prefer.
personally, though i'd like an electronic copy, i'd prefer to have the physical one more. i mean..i like having the stack of CD cases, or large piles of manga/books, kinda showing off my little collection. though im not opposed to having the electric version, i'd want to buy the physical one first (such as buying a CD, then putting it on my comp/MP3).

Electronic is convenient, but I come from the days of vinyl. I like something that I can hold and look at, and even CDs are a step down for me because album cover art is--well, not a thing of the past but the canvas got smaller. Like when people see the actual Mona Lisa and don't realize how small it is, and they're somewhat disappointed. But I also have a real crank Victrola and 78s. They give an atmosphere you don't get anymore and it still comes across on a modern turntable, but digital just doesn't capture that. If you can play it on old tube equipment, you also get vintage smells. Digital sanitizes it too much for me, but you may not miss it if you never lived with it.
