Hamster... what are some home-made...?
What are some home made toys and things that I can put in the cage for my hamster (getting him tomorrow)?
I have heard of like Toilet paper tubes and like Cardboard boxes cut up so the hamster can go in there? Is that really ok for the hamster?
Also what are some other things I can put in there that will be safe for my hamster to be in or around?
Any home-made bedding that I can do for my hamster?
Does anyone have any pictures of a home made cage for their hamster? Do they absolutely NEED a lid on their cage?
I have heard using a big storage box(clear) and they will be fine with some bedding in the bottom and some toys in there

Toilet paper tubes make great homemade toys. It allows your hamster to have something to chew on, and gives them a tube to run through. I also sometimes use old plastic cups (not syrofoam) and cut a little doorway in the bottom so my hammies can hide in there. And, no hamsters don't have to have a lid on their cage. Just make sure that you don't have anything inside that the hamster could climb and escape. I use fish aquarium tanks for my hamsters As far as homemade bedding, I'm not so sure.
