Can i put an antenna on my ATT EWIRE wireless router to increase wifi?
I have the ATT DSL internet & cable, the modem is all in one, with wireless but the reception can't reach 60 feet to the front of the house when i want use my Mac outside in the front of the house, lose the connection, i had a another wireless router before and it reached to the front of the house without any problems..when i had comcast? is there a way to put an antenna on the modem?
No, you cannot attach an antenna to your modem. However, you can purchase a wireless repeater (aka Access Point or Range Extenders) which will amplify the signal. The other solution is to purchase a stronger wireless router and connect it to your modem.
Remember, 802.11n has a longer range than 802.11b/g signals. Also, notice many routers will have anywhere from 1-8 built-in antennaes. Not all routers are treated the same. I am guessing your DSL modem has only one antenna, where your other wireless router had 2 or 3.
